Beauty Spot (Dyptich)

Rowena Easton

Tankerton Slopes wood, behind the beach huts

Floating amongst the trees this neon love poem expresses the ambivalence of desire, while at the same time questioning our ambivalent feelings towards nature and how this might connect with power relations in the landscape. Both romantic and threatening, Beauty Spot (diptych) asks the public to examine a spatial order that feeds off and reproduces pleasure and fear.
